3125 34th Street – Future Affordable Housing Site
In 2015, with the financial support of the City of Boulder, Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) purchased the 4.5-acre vacant lot to the east of the Orchard Grove Mobile Home Park to be eventually developed as affordable housing. In Fall 2017, BHP began exploring site design ideas and the type of development most appropriate for this site.
On January 22, 2024, BHP submitted a Site Review Application to the City of Boulder for 3125 34th Street. The City Planning Department will review the application and the project will go before the Planning Board in the spring. At that time, the project will be reviewed by City staff and presented at a Planning Board meeting that will include a public hearing where there will be an opportunity for public comment. We encourage interested parties to share their perspective about the project with the City and Planning Board during the meeting. We will update both the website and send notification of the Planning Board date once we have been placed on the agenda by the City.
The project is proposed to include 44 single-family style affordable rental homes. The site will maintain the existing wildlife corridor and significant open space especially along the community ditch. The site design includes amenities such as a new community center, playground, community gardens, a pollinator garden, and walking paths to encourage pedestrian and bike traffic in and around the site. We anticipate construction to begin in 2026.
