Boulder Housing Partners' Tim Beal and Jessica Robetor discuss the recent success of the Zero Waste Program at Kalmia. Through a partnership with Eco-Cycle, the City of Boulder, and Western Disposal, the Kalmia Community is now diverting 40% of total material from the landfill through both recycling and their newly instituted composting service.
BHP looks forward to extending the success of this program to nine other properties through the Boulder County Zero Waste Grant that was awarded recently.

High Mar Construction Update
February 10, 2014
Construction continues on the High Mar project! The entire building is now framed and completely dried-in. Siding work on the exterior of the building is on-going. Subcontractors have begun flooring, painting, and cabinetry work on the western portion of the building. Drywall work, insulation, and rough electrical and plumbing work continues on the eastern portion of the building.

Boulder County's Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Waitlist Open and Accepting Applications.
Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) is a 5 year program designed to help low-income families gain education and job skills in order to improve their family's financial situation and move
toward self-sufficiency. FSS is open to low-income families who are interested in pursuing further education for a GED, high school diploma,training certificate or college degree, with the end goal of securing stable employment.

Lee Hill Construction Update
February 19, 2014
1175 Lee Hill continues to change daily as the framing crews are out on site. The main first floor walls are framed and sheathed. The framers are currently working on framing the second floor walls. Steel columns and beams have been erected on the lower slab. Framing of the lower slab will begin this Friday.

The Boulder Arts Commission is awarding Art@1175 their $10,000 Major Grant to place a mural on the exterior of 1175 Lee Hill. This is a huge success for BHP and the North Boulder neighborhood!
Art@1175 is a public art committee consisting of local artists and neighbors created to bring art to help make 1175 Lee Hill a venue for public art in North Boulder.

BHP is excited to announce the top ten finalists for the Art@1175 Construction Fence Art Contest, "How did the Boulder Flood Impact your Life?." The winners are students at Tara School, Boulder High School or Watershed School.
Art@1175 will be revealing the students' artwork on 1175 Lee Hill's construction fence during the first week of March. Boulder Housing Partners will host a celebratory reception for the students and their families on March 7th, in conjunction with NoBo Art District's First Friday event. The top three winners will be announced at the NoBo Art District's First Friday reception and each winner will receive a gift. We invite you to visit the fence and view the students' impressive artwork.
