Due to the overwhelming interest in High Mar, we have changed the application process. We will no longer be processing applications in the order received. Eligible applications will be processed using a lottery system. Applications will be accepted until March 11, 2014 @ 5:00 P.M.
Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) will draw applications at random to select candidates considered to live at High Mar after all applications are received on March 11, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. The lottery numbers chosen will be posted on the BHP website, www.boulderhousing.org, on March 25, 2014. Selected candidates will be contacted to complete a High Mar Leasing Application until all 59-apartments have been leased. Not all lottery numbers may be contacted.
We are pleased to announce that BHP will be accepting pre-applications to live at High Mar beginning at 8:00 a.m. on March 6, 2014 until 5:00 pm on March 11, 2014. We anticipate the apartments will be ready for move in this June. More information will be available later this week on how to receive a pre-leasing application.
High Mar, Boulder Housing Partners' new Senior Living Community, is an apartment community designed and built specifically for those who are 55 years of age and older. The three-story, elevator-serviced building contains 59 one and two-bedroom units, each with its own private balcony or patio and in-unit washer/dryer.
Outside, residents will have access to a beautifully landscaped courtyard and community gardens. Inside, residents will be able to enjoy semi-private lounge areas on the upper floors and a first floor community area that includes patio access, a fireplace, WiFi access, a kitchenette, sunny seating areas, and event rooms.
Covered parking and bike parking will also be provided for transportation convenience.
Do I qualify?
Age and income limits do apply. To qualify for living in High Mar, you must be 55 years of age or older. Households with dependents under the age of 55 are permitted. Annual gross maximum income:
- One person maximum: $40,380
- Two people maximum: $46,140
- Three people maximum: $51,900
Households need a minimum gross income of $20,000, a Section 8 Voucher, or other subsidy.
How much are the rents?
Monthly rent may vary depending on your income and the size of the apartment. One-bedroom apartments will range between $632 and $976. Two-bedroom apartments will range between $760 and $1172.
What are the units like?
The High Mar community has one and two-bedroom units. Each unit has its own balcony or patio and washer/dryer. Our sample floor plans provide further details.
I'm a single person, can I rent a two-bedroom unit?
Yes. You may rent any unit you can afford or that your Section 8 Voucher covers.
What does this community have to offer?
All residents will receive a free EcoPass (local and regional bus pass) through the first three years after construction. Two adjacent bus stops and the nearby Table Mesa Park-N-Ride make bus travel extremely convenient in town and throughout the Denver metro area.
A public multi-use path extends through the property and connects residents to on-street bike paths and walking routes. All residents will be provided with a safe and convenient place to store their bikes.
Wellness will go beyond physical fitness. High Mar will have a designated Resident Services Coordinator who will be responsible for organizing programs and activities targeted to seniors.
High Mar is located in the Martin Acres neighborhood. Various services are within walking distance, including a post office and a coffee shop. Downtown Boulder, the University of Colorado, and the City's East Boulder Recreation and Senior Center are only a short bus or bike ride away.
