Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) is very pleased to announce that the demolition and reconstruction of one of our single-family homes in the Iris/Hawthorn community is now complete. On November 2, 2015 our Asset Management staff had the privilege of showing the new tenants their brand new, very energy efficient, fully ADA accessible 3-bedroom home.
This home was the one unit in BHP’s portfolio that was rendered uninhabitable by the September 2013 floods. We worked with FEMA and our insurance company for many months to get funding for this home to be demolished and rebuilt. Demolition began in May 2015. Many thanks go out to Asset Project Manager Jessica Kenney for her patience during this long planning process!
This is a great example of what the rest of the Iris/Hawthorn homes will look like after Project Renovate is finished. Here are a few items that this home features, as will the rest of the renovated Iris/Hawthorn homes: modern exterior colors (red, blue or green), air conditioning, new and energy efficient appliances, ceiling fans in each bedroom, a front and back covered patio, LVT (or wood) flooring throughout, and new windows/sliding glass doors.
