Volunteer Program

Welcome to the Volunteer Program of Boulder Housing Partners
Boulder Housing Partners is committed to providing quality housing to the citizens of Boulder. The BHP volunteer program is built upon the mission of BHP.
Mission
The primary mission of BHP is to provide quality, affordable housing that is developed and managed with respect for the dignity of all involved. We also seek to create a sense of community strength and spirit that supports resident efforts to realize success in their lives.
Volunteers support this mission through the provision of services to individuals, groups, and the staff of BHP. Volunteer opportunities range from one on one assistance to group activities and office work. Group activities consist of garden cleaning, painting, limited landscaping, game playing, community dinners and other activities. All volunteers working directly with residents must go through a criminal background check, agree to maintain confidentiality of resident issues, and consent to supervision from the volunteer program.
Application Process
It is important that volunteer skills be carefully matched with the needs of the residents. To best accomplish this, each potential volunteer is interviewed by the Volunteer Coordinator, completes the volunteer application and other forms, and agrees to have a criminal background check completed. When all this is completed and an appropriate match is agreed upon by the potential volunteer and the Volunteer Coordinator, the volunteer will begin a probationary period of one to three months. Once this period has been successfully completed the match will become permanent until the need is met or the service is no longer needed.
